What’s the News On The Block?

    By Kevin Underwood inUncategorized

Peninsula Director Rupert Hambly is featured by New On The Block and their specialist magazine. It’s great to see the launch of a Government initiative for property management company directors and if you are the director of a residents’ management company (RMC) then one particular Whitehall pronouncement should have you sitting up and taking notice as Companies House has launched a vital awareness campaign aimed at RMC directors. We suggest visiting Companies House website launches an awareness campaign aimed at flat management company directors with Online Toolkit.

We are strong advocates of directors fully understanding their role and the responsibilities; they are real!

We look to work closely with the directors of the Residents Management Companies we act for. The areas of responsibility are enormous covering corporate responsibilities and compliance with the plethora of regulations and legislation covering flat and apartment block management which require attention to ensure compliance.

News On The Block is a great site and a superb resource for long-leasehold block management. There are really informative features and articles on all aspects of block management, from a variety of property experts and professionals. Anyone who owns a long-leasehold flat or apartment or is involved professionally in block management should visit News On The Block, it’s really informative and helpful.

The management of long-leasehold flats and apartments is involved and complex, so an approach of continual learning is invaluable. What is Section 20 consultation or leasehold enfranchisement? What do lease terms mean? When can you have a lease extension? What happens when an apartment is sold? These topics are just tip of the iceberg and Residents Management Company directors can’t be expected to know everything. This highlights the importance of having receiving the right professional advice and having an appropriate team to deal with the day to day operations of block management, dealing efficiently with the service charge and the longer term strategic planning.
